Contact lenses can be a nice change of pace from your prescription glasses while enjoying the same clear vision. At Rock optiX, our eye doctor in Millis provide comprehensive contact lens exams and fittings to ensure your contact lenses fit safely and comfortably.
Our contact lens exam is designed around our patient’s vision goals and needs. Book an exam with us today or to explore what contact lenses are best for your visual needs.
Contact lenses can correct refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia.
The advancements in contact lens technology have made them a more viable alternative to glasses than ever. Our team will guide you through the exam and fitting process to help determine the right fit.
The patient experience is a priority at Rock optiX, and our contact lens services are designed around finding our patients their ideal contact lenses.
The contact lens fitting process is essential to help our team determine your comfort and vision correction needs while wearing your new lenses.
We begin the process by assessing the health and measurements of your eyes using diagnostic technology.
The OPD-Scan III is a tool used to capture accurate measurements of your eyes quickly and efficiently.
The OPD eye test mainly measures corneal shape and tests for refractive errors. This scanner can help our team determine the causes of visual difficulties. We then use this information to help build your contact lens prescription.
Contact lenses usually fall under 2 main categories, soft contact lenses and rigid gas permeable (RGP).
Soft contact lenses are made from soft, flexible plastics that allow oxygen to pass through to the cornea.
RGP lenses are more durable than soft contacts and typically last longer. These lenses may require a longer adjustment period, and it can take a few weeks for your eyes to fully adjust.
At Rock optiX, we also offer MiSight 1 day myopia control lenses and NaturalVue multifocal lenses to help children manage myopia. MiSight 1 day lenses are designed to help slow the progression of myopia in children aged 8 to 12 at the beginning of treatment. NaturalVue lenses are daily disposable lenses that slow the progression of eye growth associated with myopia.
